This document presents
a thorough analysis of the hair and makeup that most Bollywood music premiers
feature. As aforementioned the purpose of this assignment is to primarily
present clear identification of the factors that lead me to making my final
decision in regards to the hair and makeup
the `Actresses/actress ‘will have in my very own music promo. This
document will not only allow me to finalize upon a decision but arguably it
will also highlights the areas in which I could potentially improve upon in
regards to making my `Music Pomo` as Bollywood like as possible.
Presented below are various factors that I have
identified to continuously have been featured within several Bollywood music
premiers. In light of this, I am inclined to believe that a combination of these
factors will allow me to produce/develop a successful music premier.
• Body Language
I
have watched a vast number of Bollywood music promos several times in the
attempt of identifying as many similarities between them all as possible. On
the basis of the evidence currently available (the music promos that I have
watched) It seems fair to suggest that all the main male actors in a Bollywood
music promo all have great body posture. I am inclined to believe that India to
an extent is still arguably a patriarchal society this is vividly displayed
within the Bollywood music promos that I have carefully studied. The body
language of the male actors
seem to me demanding respect as opposed to the females’ actresses whom lack
confidence. Having great posture would allow the male actors to establish
somewhat of a greater (first) impression with the audience/ viewers in regards
to them showing them that they are: self-confident, enthusiastic and hero-like.
On logical grounds, great posture/body language would allow an actor to
strengthen their verbal message. A form of justification for this is that the
audience for a particular music promo is far more likely to take an actor seriously
if they are self-confident, brave and strong as opposed to an actor whom lacks
self- confidence, courage and strength. After
careful consideration I am inclined to believe that in Bollywood music promos
body language plays a major contributing to the overall representation of an
actor as it shows the audience a little more about them. The phrase ` it’s not what you say, it’s what
you do` is far more than relevant in this context as an actors body language allows the audience to perceive
an applicant in a number of different ways.
Eye
Contact
Within society it has become far more than normal and normalized to
maintain eye contact within a conversation as a form of respect regardless of
whom you are talking to. On logical grounds such a `principle` should be applied
to practically anything. In Bollywood
music promos all actors especially men maintain constant eye contact with the
camera. This is advantageous for them as they are showing the audience that
they are indeed worthy of respect, they can speak and do things with confidence
and that they have self-esteem in which is an asset any individual in the audience
would admire. After watching several Bollywood music promos it is apparent to
me that primarily all the actors that star within the video maintain eye contact
with the camera. In lights of this I believe that eye-contact plays a major
role in contributing to the overall representation of the actor prior to it
showing the audience that the actor is: confident, reliable and brave.
Dress
The first time the audience meets
an actor in a Bollywood music promo they well notice the individuals’ outwards
appearance which will allow them to a glimpse at their judgment skills and
traits. Within a Bollywood music promo the way an applicant chooses to dress in
an interview is highly dependent upon the type of video that they are planning
to make. For instances: If an actor was playing a role of an individual with a
high –level professional job in an place where wearing tailored suites is
normal, showing up in anything else can give the indication to the audience that
they do not understand what is to be expected from them nor do they care about
establishing a great first impression with the. (In turn this can lead to the audience
perceiving them as care-less and not hero-like.) Likewise, if an actor is
playing the role of a teacher and they are dressed in club wear, they are
showing the audience that they do not have the knowledge to read a situation
correctly. This could also create confusion as the audience may not recognize
what role the actor is playing which would mean they would not understand the deeper
meaning behind the music promo. An actor’s appearance allows the audience of a
particular Bollywood music promo to cast a judgment upon their professionalism
and their confidence as it allows them to understand whether or not the actor or
promo creator understands that there are standards and expectation within the Bollywood
industry that need to be followed
. In regards to the music promos I watched I have
notice that the actors’ dresses seem to me similar and they are always dressed appropriately
according to the norms of the Bollywood industry.
. On logical grounds, it is clear
that if an actor was dressed in an incredibly unprofessional manner they would most-
likely not receive the
Best first impression prior to
the lack of professionalism and incorrect judgment.
Whilst watching several Bollywood music promos I have come to the
concu
